How to Know You Are Moving to Success

Success can seem like it is never coming at times.

Things can be hard. Sometimes it is easy to feel like you aren’t ever going to reach your goals and that you are in a rut.

I know what that can feel like. You might be overlooking the signs you are heading to success.

That is why I’m sharing this list of ways to know that you are heading in the right direction.

You are staying more positive.

If you are going to dwell on things you need to be dwelling on the successful and positive ones. If you find yourself thinking about success and positive thoughts, you know that you are overcoming the default negative thinking that many of us find ourselves doing. You’ve learned to silence the negative thoughts about yourself and are on the way to success.

You smile.

Smiling is proven to make you a happier person. You find yourself smiling at yourself and giving away smiles to others.

Smiling can even happen via a text message, email or shared over the phone. You are sharing your smile with others and that means you’ve got a positive attitude that leads to success.

giphy (3)

You face your fears.

If you’ve begun facing your fears, you have taken a massive step on the road to success.

Overcoming the doubts, fears, and scary thoughts is a major step.

You’ve begun taking the steps (no matter how small) to accomplishing big things.

giphy (4)

You’ve realized you can’t make everyone happy.

You’ve decided to focus on the things that matter. Instead of trying to make everyone else happy you’ve decided to make yourself happy.

We can’t make everyone happy but we are in control of our own happiness. If you’ve passed the point of trying to make every single person happy and focusing on the things you can do, then you’ve made a huge step towards success.

giphy (5)

You are pursuing your passion.

You’ve decided to pursue the things that make you passionate.

You spend time doing the stuff that makes you happy, the stuff that makes you feel driven.

giphy (6)

You learn and grow from failure.

You’ve learned that failures are great learning opportunities.

Instead of beating yourself up for a failure you’ve learned that it is an opportunity to learn, grow, and do better.

giphy (7)

You don’t blame everyone else.

You’ve decided not to blame your problems on everyone else. People who are on track to be successful are those who no longer blame every problem in life on someone else. People who are on track for success take responsibility for actions and admit failures and learn from them.

giphy (8)

You aren’t “busy”.

Instead of filling your day with tasks that keep you busy but not truly accomplishing things you are in control.

People who are always “busy” don’t have control over life. They are constantly doing things that aren’t working towards success.

If you’ve mastered the art of managing your time and not just doing busy work you are on track for success.

giphy (9)

You are grateful.

You spend time each day being grateful. You’ve learned the importance of being thankful for what you have currently and what you are doing.

You set aside a small portion of time each day to focus on the good things in your life.

giphy (10)

You focus on now.

Instead of worrying about the past or the future you are focused on what is happening now.

Focused on your goals, the things that make you happy. People who are on the road to success aren’t dwelling on things in the past.

You are doing awesome.

You are doing these things and on the road to success.

  1. Tim says

Thank you for sharing this list.

It made me feel a lot better about things. I have been in a rut recently and was ignoring the fact that things are getting better!

  2. Diana says

I’ve been really down recently and seeing this list brightened my day. I am doing a lot of these things and will start doing the others soon.

  3. says

Tim Ferris recently said that if you are just “busy” you are doing something wrong.

I think he has some validity to that statement. Busy people are out of control. Good advice in this context as well.
